Israel is a great teacher. He is very diplomatic, and I like that he teaches the basics and doesn't give too much information to beginners, so they don't get too confused. I have learned a lot from this class as well as his Urban Sketching class. I will definitely continue taking classes taught by him.

I’m a seniors citizen over 75. Going to the first class was easy as I found street parking and entered the campus easily, also it was mild weather. But for the second class I tried to enter the gate on Vermont as I did the first week but I couldn’t get in as it was locked. I had to walk 3/4 of the way around the block to find an open gate and it was a pretty warm day and I had a lot to carry. It was hard. Sad face. No signs to help a new student know where to go. I finally found the open gate and entered the building. Three stories. No elevator. Sad face again. I finally got to the classroom just a bit late I believe, and was able to learn some good information about watercolor painting. The instructor was very good. He had a great deal of knowledge and experience to share just in the first class. VERY sorry that I couldn’t continue the class. If you can’t get to the class how good it is doesn’t matter. It was just too much for me. Next time I sign up for a class I’ll do more research to make sure that it will work for me as a “senior citizen.” Just a suggestion: next posting for classes some ADA guidelines would be super helpful. I’ll try again another time. Thanks Holly

I love taking this water color class. Israel is the best teacher. He's patient, encouraging. This was the second class I've taken with him and will take more in the months to come.

This class was a bit too beginner-level for me and did not meet my expectations. I was hoping to learn more technique and practices specific to watercolor. Instead we went over very basic art theory, including color theory, composition, etc. One class was a free session and there was no instruction, which felt a bit like a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this teacher, unfortunately.

I liked the class and learned a lot but I felt like the exercises were not all watercolor. We did multiple paintings that were more for acrylic and oil mediums. Overall, it was a good class for a beginner.
