What you'll learn in this pottery wheel class:

Get creative with this relaxing, fun, beginner-friendly class at our DTLA Arts District studio. Classes meet weekly for two hours for a total of four sessions, with open studio time every day for you to practice on your own.

During this four-week course, you will learn the basics of hand building through techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction. We will also go over surface decoration and get creative with glazing. Handbuilding is a freeform, meditative process and you'll be able to use your skills to create a variety of objects like teacups, vases, bowls, planters, and small sculptures.

This class is perfect for those who have no prior experience with clay, as well as wheel throwers who would like to try something different. The fee for this course includes covers instruction, clay, tools, glazes, and firing, plus open studio hours outside of class for more exploration in clay.

Classes are two hours long and run for four consecutive weeks. We strongly advise you to make sure you’ll be able to attend all class sessions before signing up; make up options for this class are limited. 

Classes are for adults 18 and over.

IN-STUDIO OPEN CLASSES:

Cancellations for In-Studio classes must be made 24 hours prior to class in order to give those on the waitlist adequate notification that they have been added to the class. For cancellations made prior to 24 hours before the class start time, students will receive a credit to their account. Classes expire 14 days from date of purchase, not from date of class or cancellation. No credit or reimbursement will be given for late cancellations or for not showing up for a scheduled class.

ONLINE OPEN CLASSES & WORKSHOPS:

For online class cancellations made prior to 2 hours before the class start time, students will receive a credit to their account. Classes expire 14 days from date of purchase, not from date of class or cancellation. For online class cancellations made within two (2) hours of the class start time, students will forfeit their place in class and shall not receive a refund. There are NO refunds or exchanges for Connect Online Classes.
