Description

The gin and tonic elixir has come a long way from being used to stave off malaria (yes, that's true!). The drink is now enjoyed around the world everywhere liquor is served. Your introduction to this famous cocktail starts with the discovery of tonic water by the British Navy in the 1850s.

You'll sample tonic varieties available today that still harken back to this period and you'll learn how to make tonic water yourself. From there, you'll taste different styles of gin, from floral and botanical to stronger and more assertive. Then comes the magic: You'll be taught how to mix the two using different styles of gin and tonics available around the world today. Cheers!

Drinks covered include:

Multiple tastings of different types of gin
Multiple tastings of different types of tonic
Homemade tonic
Various gin and tonic styles and paired garnishes

School Notes:
We advise students to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the class start time. It is very important to start all classes on time. Because the lecture and class overview happen at the beginning of each class, losing the first few minutes can make a big difference in the class being successful or stressful for a student.

ICE provides everything you need for your class from aprons to knives and recipes. Students will get to keep the recipe packet you receive in class. In the event that you misplace your packet, email customer service at [email protected] to receive a digital version.

Students can take their food home. There are takeout containers available for transporting your food home.

For those with dietary concerns, there are no substitutions, but we soon will offer meat-free classes as well as gluten-free classes.

Photo Policy: Of course, we encourage photos, so capture memories of your dishes and feel free to tag us @iceculinary!
