Scarf Eco-Printing

Monica Medeiros has perfected the art of botanical printing, blending the ample gifts of nature with the creative spark of human ingenuity.  Learn from Monica how to transfer the naturally occurring dyes found within botanical materials onto silk fabric, crafting the perfect “green” piece of wearable art. 

After a brief introduction, students will make a few practice swatches on different fibers and then will work to create their own unique silk scarf- the perfect memento of the season!  

Designs can range from simple and articulate with realistic prints from the seasonal flora provided, or can be looser and more painterly with abstract imagery- it’s up to you! This class is the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day or create a handcrafted treasure for someone whom you hold dear.

Students may bring a notepad and pen if they'd like but it's not necessary. The school will provide everything a student will need for that class.
