Description
What you'll learn in this beginner sewing class:
Learn 3 different ways to install zippers that are commonly used in garments and accessories - center lapped, exposed, and invisble. You'll be making reference samples to keep and refer to in the future. If there's time, we'll also put your new zipper skills to the test and make a simple zippered pouch with lining. These bags are so cute and handy you'll definitely want to make more. They also make great last-minute gifts!
Skill Level: Beginner.
Prerequisite: Must know how to use a sewing machine.
Cutting mats, sewing machines, neutral thread and iron will be provided for use in the classroom.
Required Supplies: (all supplies are available for purchase at Gotham Quilts)
- 2 - 4 Fat quarters or scraps of roughly that size
- 4+ 7” - 9" zippers
- Pins or Wonder Clips
- rotary cutter
- 6" x 12" ruler and/or 9.5" square ruler
- Scissors
- Seam ripper
