Dive deep into acting for film with the lovely and renown Casting Director Aleta Chappelle. Ms. Aleta Chappelle is an active Casting Director with 8 current projects in production, is bringing her Internationally Acclaimed FILM ACTING CLASS to our studio for the First Time! This class is an introduction (no experience required) and a refresher (serves as a “tune-up” for experienced Actors) FILM ACTING TECHNIQUE 4 Part Course for professional actors. This will be an intimate class with overall 12 Hours of Training.
Class overview
Each class begins with Warm-ups for the body and Improvisation Games to warm up the mind. In advance of the class, the Actors will need to prepare a 2-3 min monologue. It can be a new monologue or a monologue the Actor has performed before. It can be from a play or a film script. The goal is to refine and rework this monologue ON CAMERA and this will be a key component of this acting course. As a final step a NEW monologue will be assigned to each Actor by Ms. Chappelle, it will contrast the original monologue (comic, dramatic or if requested a Shakespeare monologue), and this allows each Actor participating to come away with 2 presentable MONOLOGUES of a high professional standard.
Day# 1: AUDITION BASICS will begin with an open discussion regarding - picture and resumes, how to find auditions if you don’t have an Agent, memorization techniques, what Casting Directors and Directors are looking for and the difference between film and TV auditions and how best to prepare for both.
Day #2: The assigned COMIC scene is performed ON CAMERA, refined and filmed again. Blocking is added, techniques for working with a script supervisor are discussed and improvisation is used to develop the character.
Day # 3: The assigned DRAMATIC scene is performed ON CAMERA, with notes given to refine the performances and be filmed again. More complicated blocking and improvisation techniques is used to further develop the character.
Day # 4: The NEW monologue will be coached, refined and filmed for the last time.
