Anne Husick

Teaches at New York City Guitar School

Anne Husick comes to teaching at the NYC Guitar School with a solid foundation in the real world of music. Playing guitar since she was 9 years old, Anne attended NYC’s High School of Music and Art and the University of Miami with a major in music. In bands since the early 80s, Anne has fronted several of her own bands as well as recorded and toured with NY’s no-wave darlings Band of Susans, Ronnie Spector (Ronettes) and Wilson Pickett. She’s played bass in the Off-B’way and Chicago productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and has been on TV, including David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, and The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. Anne has also worked behind the scenes as booking agent, soundperson, MC, roadie, record company intern and in her most enduring role, songwriter. She currently writes with City Canyons Records owner Trebor Lloyd for many of his artists, including former Dead Can Dance percussionist Peter Ulrich. You can find Anne playing guitar with her (other) long time songwriting partner Jen Elliott, and bass with Red Gretchen. Anne loves teaching beginners as well as focusing on 60s/70s, punk, indie, folk and country rock, performance and songwriting.
