Kira Silver

Teaches at Textile Arts Center

Kira studied Studio Art at Oberlin College where she learned how to weave. She interned at the Textile Arts Center before becoming a teacher. She has a weaving studio in her apartment in Brooklyn which she puts to use making woven goods.

this is a very good class. Kira our instructor was excellent in that it was definitely a hands on program. We learned terminology as we needed it, we learned all the aspects a beginning weaver should know. Kira was encouraging and supportive of the project choices, when there were problems and questions. I highly recommend this class for anyone who is interested in weaving .
