Teacher knowledgeable but total class time only 3-4hrs, not 6-hr total as advertised. Teacher reluctant to answer questions even though class was only 1 hr (not 3 hrs) in final session. Perhaps class time & price should be adjusted accordingly.

Excellent class with a knowledgeable teacher. Thoroughly reviewed natural dyeing techniques and spent hours doing various types of hand dyeing. At the end of the class we each had a book of documented samples and several yards of cloth. Wonderful!!

Natalie Stopka is an excellent teacher and the class was fun and interesting and productive. We accomplished a lot in one day.
What a perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Great class! Natalie was a wonderful teacher, so much fun. Learned a lot and had plenty of time to experiment with the technique. Would absolutely take another of her classes.

I love the class which has a lot interaction and fun. Natalie introduced in very detail and demonstrated in a proper way which is good to students.

EXTREMELY informative. I've taken over 3 Suminagashi marbling classes, this has to take the cake. I came away with +10 techniques to add to my Suminagashi marbling toolbox. I highly recommend purchasing the extra yards of fabric. So much freedom in this class and time to explore using the techniques and create great pieces.

Natalie is a great teacher.

Wonderful teacher!
Wonderful class!

Natalie Stopka definitely knows the craft of Marbling and relayed her knowledge easily and with clarity. We worked, but the end results of the days activities was well worth the effort Natalie put forward. Thank you Natalie.

Well run and informative.

Natalie is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a truly wonderful teacher. Highly recommend this course! Loved all of her information on the history of book-binding while we were completing tasks - and her advice for my specific project was invaluable. Very grateful - thanks Natalie!

great class. Instructor wonderful. Unfortunately missed many pointers while working at large vat.

I am a person that learns visually I would have liked to see the preparation of the liquid step by step I think that this process is essential for the technique of marbling to be efficient

Natalie is a wonderful teacher and is fun and funny. I would take any class that she teaches.

Excellent instruction, teacher is very knowledgeable. Class size was on the big side this time (10) but we managed to share the large vat!

Overall I thought the class was great. I liked that the instructor made a special point to address everyone's main reasons for taking the class. I also liked that she let us all go off on our own fairly quickly instead of forcing us all to do the same thing. The only thing I wish had been clearer is an emphasis on technique so that one of our dye vats would not have "crocked" so early in the session. If we had been told to be more careful and disturb the vat less (no wringing of fabrics, etc.) then it likely would have lasted. Aside from this minor thing I really enjoyed the class. Great intro and loved the amount of history the teacher shared!

The instructor was wonderful - very passionate and knowledgeable about dyes, encouraging and accommodating! I would absolutely learn from her again. The class size was good, and the Textile Center was easy to find.
The reason I gave fewer stars is that I don't think it was worth the expensive price for two days. We spent most of the second day doing Shibori folding, which is very interesting, but I wish we had focused more time on extracting natural pigments and dyeing samples for reference so we could learn more about making dyes on our own. This especially because it's pretty easy to find Shibori workshops, but Natural Dyeing is a lot more rare, so I was disappointed that the majority of the course wasn't spent on that exclusively. Pots and supplies weren't prepared beforehand, so a lot of the time it was a scramble to get everything we needed, and they had someone cleaning out old projects from the area and people walked through the space a lot during classtime, which was really distracting in such a small space.
Overall the class gave interesting information, but I think it is overpriced. I think it would work better as a one-day dyeing intensive for half of the cost. I feel bad saying it because the instructor was so awesome, but I do regret spending so much on what ended up being a very casual setup.

Natalie ran a great class.
Thank you!

I loved this class! The instructor is so knowledgeable and we were able to complete multiple samples, as well as dye additional pieces brought from home.
-
I loved this class! Natalie is a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor. I was able to complete multiple projects and designs within the span of one class. Definitely would recommend to friends!

It was great! I learned a lot. Love that history was incorporated into the class.

Class was a great way to spend a Saturday, teacher was very knowledgeable and did a nice job at tying in interested fact while she was teaching. My only complaint was that the space was a little tight and it kind of felt like we were on top of each other.

This was a great workshop. Natalie is a wealth of knowledge and an excellent teacher. I came in as a total beginner and walked away with a good foundation of skills to get me started. I would take another workshop with her. Highly recommend.

Excellent class, knowledgeable teacher, thorough handout- and I feel I really got the value by getting to make so many pieces. I'm 100% taking another class with Textile Arts Center.

Jennie was informative, sweet and attentive to everyone in th class. The space is small but makes it feel more intimate; like you're all friends. Booked my second class the night I took my first one. Will definitely share with all my friends!

The class was awesome! The instructor, Natalie was very nice to answer all the questions and instructions were very clear.
It was sad though that the garden was no longer available because it would have been awesome to be able to go out and pick flowers to dye them.
But the class is still very recommended!

Very informative and well prepared!

I enjoyed learning how to marble and was surprised at how quickly the three hours passed. Although it was only one class, the fact that they also provided instructional materials detailing the process and the products makes it possible for me to try marbling on my own.

The teacher was great, but it wasn't what was described in the site. The site had an image of a Coptic binding and the description of the Coptic binding process. I assumed it was a derivation of the Coptic process. It wasn't.

What a great way to spend the after work hours! The class was very relaxing and Natalie was a wonderful instructor. Very patient (especially for someone like me who kept forgetting which stitch needed to go where, etc!) and passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience. Definitely recommended!

I loved the set up of the class, the information given and the various projects we worked on.
Too bad it already ended.

Great class! A little bit more structure would've been nice, if only to learn another book design. But overall very enjoyable and informative.
