Daryl Beyers has 20 years of professional landscaping experience and is the lead landscape designer at Poundridge Nurseries, Inc., in Pound Ridge, N.Y. In 2007 and 2008 he was a staff writer, photographer, and editor with Fine Gardening magazine.

Leda Meredith, Ph.D., holds a Certificate in Ethnobotany from the Botanical Garden and is a professional horticulturist who works with both corporate and private clients in New York City. She is the author of Botany, Ballet, & Dinner from Scratch and The Locavore's Handbook: The Busy Person's Guide to Eating Local on a Budget. Her next book, a field guide to wild edible plants of the Northeast, will be published by Timber Press in 2014. Leda is a contributing writer to numerous publications and hosts her own blog, Leda's Urban Homestead.
