ASL Level 1 for Adults

ASL Level 1 is an introduction to the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) and is designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of ASL. Each class provides live instruction with a Deaf instructor, utilizing a Zoom classroom setting. Students will learn basic ASL vocabulary, syntax, and grammar, as well as visual discrimination and non-manual markers. Additionally, students will learn ASL numbers, fingerspelling, and the importance of space and gesture while signing. They will also be introduced to the Deaf Community and learn about Deaf Culture. Students will have access to weekly E-notes, which allow them to practice during non-class hours.

E-notes and Recordings:

Students can keep their e-notes that encompass the slides used during class, containing ASL vocabulary and the entire lesson content. Additionally, after each class, you will receive the Zoom recordings for your practice and reviews.

Classes are hands-on, meaning you'll actively engage in practical learning and interactive exercises. Our experienced instructors ensure you gain practical skills and confidence in using sign language effectively.

Please Note:

• Classes are conducted without voicing. Our sessions are enhanced with PowerPoint presentations, offering a dynamic and engaging learning experience that promises both fun and valuable insights.
  
• We recommend that students wear comfortable clothing and ensure that their background has no contrasting light. 

Two schedule options:

• 4 Weeks Class: 2 classes per week; 90 minutes per class; Total- 12 hours 
• 6 Weeks Class: 1 class per week; 2 hours per class; Total- 12 hours
