How to Read Herbal Product Labels: A Beginner’s Guide is an introductory educational class designed to help students understand herbal product labels, identify important botanical information, and make more informed decisions when exploring herbal products. Students will learn how to recognize botanical names, interpret ingredient lists, understand serving sizes and directions for use, and identify important label statements, warnings, and product claims.
This class is divided into two learning sections. Part 1 is a one-hour live virtual session that introduces the fundamental concepts of herbal product labeling through instructor-led theory, practical examples, and a question-and-answer session. Part 2 provides access to four online course modules that students can complete by logging into their Peach Academy student account. These modules expand on the live session with structured lessons covering herbal label terminology, ingredient identification, product information, and label evaluation.
By combining live instruction with self-paced online learning, students will build foundational label-reading skills they can use when exploring herbal teas, botanical supplements, tinctures, herbal extracts, and other herbal products. The class emphasizes general education and label literacy rather than diagnosing health conditions or recommending treatments.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
School Notes: For live in person classes - student are responsible for bringing their practice kits. We will send out kit list via email of requirements with recommendation where they can purchase supplies.
