What you'll learn in this camera phone class:

Learn to use the iPhone camera that’s always with you and go beyond taking a simple snapshot to creating a photograph that’s an artistic expression unique to your vision.

We’ll start with the basics of learning to use iPhone’s camera and review the settings for optimal image capture as well as pro tips and techniques of exposure, composition and focus that produce the best results.

The number of photo apps available seems almost unlimited and can be very confusing when trying to choose what to purchase. Michael will cover some of the most exciting apps for image capture and editing used by iPhone photographers worldwide so you can achieve your artistic vision.

Course Content

This course includes 4 video units from the instructor, 3 one-hour Live Zoom sessions for the purpose of reinforcing concepts, asking questions, and troubleshooting.

  • Unit 1: Before and After editing images to serve as inspiration to what’s possible with editing apps.
  • Unit 2: Introduction to iPhone camera and editing basics.
  • Unit 3: Introduction and demonstration of Touch Retouch app and Snapseed basics.
  • Unit 4: Snapseed editing advanced features. Introduction and demonstration of Artista Oil app.

4 Units of recorded video instruction. Full participation students have access to three, 60-minute zoom sessions with the instructor to trouble shoot, ask questions and receive feedback on submitted photos.

Individual Assignment Feedback

  • Full participation students may submit up to 2 separate images per week to be reviewed on the weekly zoom call by the instructor.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

A refund or a credit towards another class (less a $20 processing fee) can be given if cancellation notice is given more than 5 business days from the scheduled class.

If there is no cancellation notice, or it is given 5 business days or less, no refund or credit will be given. Requests to reschedule a class will incur a $20 processing fee provided notice is given more than 5 business days prior to the class. If request to reschedule is given less than business 5 days prior to the class, no refund or credit will be given.

If Capital Photography Center cancels or postpones a class due to weather or low enrollment, you can choose a full refund or a credit towards a future class.
