Class Description

Description

Explore the rich history and remarkable diversity of French wines, from the rarest collector bottles to the beloved classics that define wine culture around the world.

French wines provide the foundation for most people learning about global wine traditions. The French pioneered the first national appellation system, which eventually became the model for the entire European Union regulatory framework. Whether you seek professional credentials through our French Wine Scholar certification program or simply wish to deepen your appreciation, "Intro to French Wines" offers something for everyone.

In this seminar, we will taste six carefully selected wines as we explore France's most important regions and appellations. You will discover why Champagne, Burgundy, and Bordeaux remain cornerstones of wine appreciation, plus uncover other exceptional regions worthy of your attention. Learn about the distinct grapes, styles, and diversity that make French wines some of the greatest in the world.
