Description

IA&A at Hillyer is a contemporary gallery dedicated to serving the public with quality exhibitions and programming. Established in April 2006, Hillyer is a program of International Arts & Artists, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally through exhibitions, programs, and services to artists, arts institutions, and the public.

Hillyer’s focus is on under-represented artists, both emerging and established, that have not had a major solo exhibition within the last three years. We showcase local and regional  artists in tandem with exhibitions featuring international artists, in a series of three exhibitions each month. Artists are selected via an Artist Advisory Committee, a group comprised of established artists and arts professionals from the DC region that have a diverse background in the arts.

In addition to a solo exhibition, accepted artists are each paired with a member from our qualified Artist Advisory Committee who works individually with each artist to help them prepare their exhibitions and establish themselves in the DC arts community.
