Class Description

Description

This course concentrates on two primary artistic focuses: mark-making and composition. You will develop your work through direct observation of photographic source material and through imaginative, concept-driven approaches. Through a series of structured exercises and studio projects, you will explore the foundational principles of visual art, experiment with diverse drawing and painting techniques, work with various tools, and engage with both dry and wet media. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged and supported in experimenting with different materials, methods, and approaches; developing a cohesive series of related work; and thinking conceptually about your artistic practice. Some prior drawing experience is expected for this course.
