Description
What you'll learn in this sewing class:
Join us for a long weekend of sewing, relaxing, & making some new friends who love sewing as much as you do! Unwind from the daily grind of normal life & take some time for yourself to work on all the unfinished sewing projects you've been meaning to tackle.
Hours of uninterrupted sewing & ME time! The sewing retreat will take place in the wonderful natural setting Harpersfield NY, located in the gorgeous Catskill Mountains just 3 hours from NYC/Hoboken and 1 hour from Albany, NY.
What’s included:
- Three nights stay in our beautiful accommodations
- Two and a 1/2 days of uninterrupted “me” time in a gorgeous country setting.
- Ample space for sewing, cutting, crafting, reading, relaxing, hiking, laughing & just about anything you’d like to do during the weekend.
- Megan’s personalized sewing assistance & fit expertise with any sewing project you’re working on from 12 – 5pm on Friday & Saturday.
- 2 Hour Macrame Class (optional)
- Breakfast on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
- Lunch on Friday & Saturday.
- Additional refreshments to keep us fortified while sewing (you’re also welcome to bring any food & drinks you’d like).
- A wonderful time time making beautiful things & meeting new people in a gorgeous country setting.
We ask that each participant help host prepare one of the lunches or breakfasts while we are on the retreat.
We’ll head into town on Friday & Saturday night for a group dinners. Each participant pays for the cost of their own dinner & drinks for both days.
BYO sewing machine & sewing tools. Sewing machines (and all related tools) can be rented from M Avery Designs for the weekend for $50.
Suggestion for what to bring
- Sewing Machine
- Sewing Tools & Supplies (thread, buttons, bobbins, iron, pins, needles, fabric, seam ripper, tape measure, etc.)
- Ideas & patterns for projects you would like to sew (and all related patterns, fabric, tools and items needed to make these projects)
- All personal items you would need for a weekend in the country. Be sure to check weather forecast in order to pack appropriately. Please keep in mind It's always about 10-15 degrees colder than downstate NY.
Please Note:
- All guests are responsible for getting to & from the retreat for the weekend.
- We are happy to try to help facilitate ride shares if requested.
- We'll provide you with address and direction after you sign up.
- You can also take a bus from New York Port Authority to Harpersfield, NY.
Refund Policy
There are no monetary refunds for canceling registration or not showing up to any classes.
- If you need to reschedule a class, this needs to be done at least 6 business days before the class starts.
- No shows and last minute cancellations (within 6 business days of the class) cannot reschedule.
We reserve the right to cancel a class without sufficient enrollment. If this happens to you, you'll be notified at least 2 full days before the class starts. You can choose to have the cost of the class fee fully refunded or you can apply the balance of the class to your account to be used for a future class or lesson.
We are not able to pro-rate any weeklong classes for non-attendance one session.
