What you'll learn in this drum class:
Explore how drumming stimulates the mind, body, and spirit, activates creative expression, and supports wholeness and well-being. In this workshop, we will learn transformational drumming based on ancient and contemporary understandings of the positive and restorative effects of rhythmic music and harmonic resonance.
We’ll expand our understanding of world music rhythm patterns of the djembe, conga, ashiko, dundun, bells, and rattles, for use in community drum circles, personal enjoyment, education, healing practices, and performance. We’ll also explore tone quality, timing, composition, improvisation, and sound healing. Come open and clear your inner pathways to brighten and enliven your own Spirit.
Note:
All skill levels welcome. Handouts and resource information will also be provided. A personal hand drum is required to participate, such as a djembe, ashiko, frame drum, dundun, conga, or dombeck. Rattles, hand percussion, bells, singing bowl are also suggested but not required.

For Single Evening Events, Series, Half-Days and Mini-Workshops, Walking Tours, Single-Event Webinars or O’Cast™ Recordings, there are no refunds or course credits for these offerings.
For Full Workshops, Ongoing Courses and Webinars and Online Courses:
- Refunds are available minus a processing fee* if you cancel up to 11 business days prior to the first day of the program.
- Course credits are available, minus a processing fee* if you cancel up to 3 business days prior to the first day of the program.
*The processing fee for cancellation is $15 for programs costing less than $250, and $35 for programs costing $250 and up.
No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations less than 3 business days prior to the first day of a program, or if a student does not attend a program. The estimated refund processing time is two to three weeks.
