Very good for learning with no experience or for filling in the gaps from self teaching AfterEffects. Wish there were a little more complex concepts taught other than just moving shapes around on 2D space but you can only teach so much in a day. Got a little too quick towards the end when exporting projects and learning different compressions so it felt arbitrary to even explain. But overall good class and great teacher, perfect pace for learning from scratch and if you need to learn specifically how to make gifs and logos -

Kalika was a fantastic instructor bringing patience and humor to every lesson. Thanks to her, I have a strong grasp on the topics covered, am confident in my skills and capability to delve further into the app. Kalika is the rare teacher who goes the extra mile for her students because she's happy to. One suggestion note is that there are a few lessons that start off with importing or setting up in more than one way for the sake of learning how different modes function. I think the class would benefit from taking time in between the demonstrations to practice that part before continuing into the bulk of the lesson - I found that I forgot what the take-away was from that initial portion of the lesson by the time the demonstration was over, and conducting that portion on my own created an interruption between the demonstration and going through the section on my own. -

I've been using Final Cut Pro since 2002 and, for the past few years, I've had a love/hate relationship with the new Final Cut Pro X (FCPX). I've tried Premiere Pro a couple times over the years but I never stuck with it because I would get lost in translation (keyboard shortcuts, jargon, etc.). I wanted to take this class because I learn best by having hands on experience and having the opportunity to ask an instructor questions. The instructor was very knowledgable, friendly and extremely helpful. The facility is professional and their curriculum very clear and coherent. I plan to take more classes here and even buy their lesson books. -

DIY Stop Motion Animation (Online)
Class was fantastic! I got a lot of feedback and one on one time with the instructor, very explorative and fun. Instructor answered all my questions and helped me to think of new ways of thinking outside the box. Would definitely take again and recommend a longer course offering if offered again. Software was easy to learn as well. -

The class was great, however coursehorse listed the class as FREE, which is was not. Additionally, when I showed up I hadn't actually been enrolled, which makes me wonder why I bothered signing up through coursehorse... this has happened to me before. User beware, maybe sign up at the actual website of the course. -

I had been trying to learn After Effects on my own for a while, but it wasn't until I decided to take the course through Noble Desktop that things really started to make sense for me. Now I feel that I have a solid foundation and am more excited than before about learning After Effects. As much as I enjoyed this class, I only wish that there was a second part to this course or something that would take you into some of the more intermediate/advanced techniques with track mattes, rotoscoping, null objects etc. -

I took the film class with Hall Powell and it was fantastic. We practiced a mock film shoot, he explained a multitude of film related techniques, and we practiced editing with Final Cut Pro. I would highly recommend this class and suggest it for anyone who's interested in film. -
Introduction to Motion Graphics
As a working professional, this was a great course. The instructor was patient, clear, insightful, and most important of all, willing to take extra time out to help you perfect whatever skill was being taught that day. Although not necessary, I would suggest you get some familiarity with Photoshop. -

Professor Hall Powell is a fantastic teacher. He was able to teach me a ton of production techniques and styles in a short amount of time. Hall was always available for all of my questions, and made sure I understood something before moving on. He really cares about the material which makes a huge difference.
